Lula Mena designed and developed an entire project for one of the largest energy companies in El Salvador: Delsur. They uninstalled more than 60,000 energy meters to replace them for digital ones. This generated large amounts of waste that pollute the environment.
In this project, we used the copper thread that is inside of energy meters to weave on traditional loom. We taught women how to weave, something just practiced by men previously. Then, we created this collection that helps empower women, rescue a traditional technique and at the same time solve the pollution problem that the energy company had.
