Lula Mena designed and developed an entire project for one of the largest energy companies of El Salvador: Delsur. They uninstalled more than 60,000 energy meters to replace them for digital ones. This generated large amounts of waste that pollute the environment.
In this project, we used the copper thread that is inside of energy meters to weave on traditional loom. We taught women how to weave in traditional looms, something that had just been practiced by men. Then, we created this collection that helps empower women, rescue a traditional technique and at the same time solve the pollution problem that the energy company had.
